A subdomain is the part of the web address which is before a domain and you've quite possibly seen a lot of subdomains while browsing the Internet. For example, many websites such as Wikipedia have versions in various languages using subdomains - en.wikipedia.org, de.wikipedia.org and so forth. The main benefit of using a subdomain is that it can have an independent website and its own records, so you can even host it on a different server. The practical use is that you can have a supplementary site, like an e-learning portal for students as well as the main school website. If you work with subdomains as opposed to subfolders, it's going to be much easier to perform maintenance or to upgrade a specific website, not mentioning that it's going to be more secure to have the sites separate from one another.

Subdomains in Shared Hosting

Our shared hosting packages will allow you to create hundreds of subdomains for every domain name hosted within your account without any difficulty. Assuming that the main domain is added, it will take two mouse clicks to create a subdomain and pick what folder it will open (if different from the default one), set unique error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and more. All subdomains are going to be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for easy access and management. By right-clicking on any one of them and by using instant access buttons you can view the error logs, visitor statistics or website files for that particular subdomain. We have not set a restriction for the amount of subdomains which you can create with any one of our plans, so you can have as many as you wish.

Subdomains in Semi-dedicated Servers

You can create as many subdomains as you would like with any of our semi-dedicated servers as we haven't set a maximum limit for this feature. The Hepsia website hosting CP will permit you to add a new subdomain with only a few mouse clicks and you can access a variety of advanced features during the process - replace the default access folder, choose the IP address the subdomain will use from the shared and dedicated ones that are available in your account, activate FrontPage Extensions, add an SSL certificate, and much more. Even if you create a great number of subdomains, you will be able to keep track of them with ease since they will be listed in alphabetical order below their main domain. For each of them, you can also access the site files or check out logs and usage stats using fast access buttons.
